One of the most successful worker-placement games in history and the reason we have since been inundated with games that pretend that farming is fun and easy, Agricola is really about feeding your family: You grow crops, raise animals, bake bread, build out your house, and maybe learn an occupation or two. It’s actually more enjoyable than it sounds because it’s a sort of puzzle of how to balance gaining points with the requirement that every few turns you turn in enough food to feed your family members. The huge decks of cards with occupations and additions called minor improvements gives the game replay value as well. Le Havre, a heavier game that combines elements of Agricola and Caylus, also has an app version from Codito.

Moving forward, there are a range of related domains that we intend to explore. For example, we aim to better understand how changes in simulation parameters (for example, force strength, MD timestep, simulation temperature, holonomic constraints, and rendering options) affect the ability of users to intuitively accomplish molecular tasks and furnish meaningful microscopic insight. We are interested in designing analytical methods that can be combined within interactive sampling strategies so that mechanistic observables (for example, free energies, barrier heights, and conformational probabilities) can be extracted from VR simulations. We are also exploring the extent to which other sensory modalities (for example, sound) might be engaged to provide additional information within a real-time immersive simulation environment (42). As we explore the potential of VR across both molecular mechanics–based and quantum mechanics–based simulations and study its ability to enable specialists and nonspecialists alike to better understand and more efficiently manipulate complex data, we look forward to understanding how it may be used to advance molecular science in a range of research, communication, and educational contexts.

While Rusted Root is on hiatus, Michael has been devoting his time to creating an entirely new soundscape. Glabicki’s new solo project is aptly titled, Uprooted. This band promises to bring back parts of the Rusted Root of old, but also include more percussion and female vocals. Collectively, the band hopes that the new material will deliver it to a special place that the fans will appreciate. Michael will continue to play Rusted Root’s entire catalogue with freshly inspired versions, as well as introduce new and exciting music under the moniker of Uprooted.

The jets use the same basic airframe as the KC-135 tanker, configured differently for the varying intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions that they carry out for the 55th Wing.
